NPOL snow band observations

Snow band echoes were observed with the NASA N-Pol radar connected to the CSU-CHILL antenna on 3 December 2008. Distinctly positive $Z d r$ values were noted in the weak reflectivity areas between the snow bands. These were due to the presence of appreciable numbers of relatively pristine, unaggregated ice crystals.
