Reflectivity structures in an RHI scan CSU-CHILL RHI scan through a severe thunderstorm just north of the Denver International Airport on 25 August 2014. An elevated reflectivity core was located beneath an overshooting echo top. At shorter ranges, a bright band occurred at the melting level in the less convectively active portion of the echo system.
